Our Story
Sometimes the best stories begin in the most unexpected places.
Ours started on a 29-hour bus journey through South America — two strangers talking, laughing and never quite wanting it to end. One beer led to many, tents under starry skies, mountain climbs, wild horses… and, somewhere along the way, falling in love.
When the journey ended, we knew one thing for sure: we didn’t want to go back to our old lives. We wanted to build something new, together. A life shaped by sunshine and creativity.
So we chose Mallorca.
Ten years ago, we arrived with big dreams, and an empty shop space. With a lot of hard work, dusty days, late nights, and the help of family and friends
La Libélula Home slowly came to life.
Since then, our story has grown — alongside our business. We’ve furnished beautiful homes, created full interior projects, built our own house, and welcomed two wonderful children. Mallorca became more than a dream; it became home.
Today, you’ll always find one of us — Johan or Kate — in the shop.
Because for us, this isn’t just a business. It’s our story, our passion, and our way of sharing beauty and craftsmanship.

Hello, I’m Kate. I’m the interior designer and co-founder of La Libélula Home, and I’ll be your main point of contact throughout your project. I will listen closely, understand how you live, and help shape a space that feels warm, calm, and personal to you.I guide you from our first chat in the showroom to the final reveal, making sure every detail flows smoothly. Design is my passion, but what truly inspires me is seeing clients light up when they see their finished home. Happy customers make me thrive — and I can’t wait to create something beautiful with you.
“Hi, I’m Johan.”I take care of the logistics, administration, and all the behind-the-scenes work that keeps La Libélula Home running smoothly. While Kate brings the creative vision, I make sure everything around her is organised, efficient, and ready so she can shine in what she does best. I’m the one ensuring orders arrive correctly, timelines stay on track, and that every project has the structure it needs. For me: when our customers are happy, Kate is happy — and happy wife, happy life ;-).
